You can apply for an International Criminal History Check (ICHC) using this application form.


• When you have submitted your application for the check, Fit2work will assess your application for completeness.
• When your application is considered complete, you will receive an email with an ICHC reference page that will include a check reference number.
• Please note: you do not need to provide the results report to Nursing Council of New Zealand. Your ICHC results will be sent directly to Nursing Council of New Zealand and you will also be emailed a copy by Fit2work.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Until further notice, international checks for Afghanistan, Brunei Darussalam, Comoros, Cote D'Ivoire, Curacao, Djibouti, Dominica, French Polynesia, Greenland, Guadeloupe, Guinea-Bissau, Isle of Man, Kiribati, North Korea, Libya, Liechtenstein, Macau, Maldives, Martinique. Montserrat, Nauru, North Macedonia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Martin, São Tomé and Príncipe, Syria, Turks and Caicos Islands., Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Russia, Ukraine are unavailable.

Please note there is no need to send a copy of the completed fit2work application or ICHC reference page back to the Nursing Council as we monitor your order status independently.

    In order to submit International Police Checks as part of your Nursing Council of New Zealand registration, please ensure:

    1. You select country required in the box below. If you cannot find the country name, please email: [email protected] for support and assistance
    2. Download and sign the required consent forms and provide all required details for each country
    3. You will be required to scan and upload a copy of each consent form to submit your check
    4. Your overseas address history, passport number and other details will be required for these checks
    5. Once finalised, please submit your checks by processing payment via credit card or Paypal.
    6. Please note, Australian Police Checks require a separate application. Please click on the above blue link to submit an application for an Australian Police check.
